71-year-old man hit by trailer in Heywood

A 71-year-old man has had a lucky escape after being hit by a trailer in Heywood this afternoon (Monday 8 September).
It is understood that the man was walking along Bridge Street at around 12:30pm and was hit by the trailer which is believed to have been attached to a JCB.
The man was taken to North Manchester Hospital were he was found to have multiple fractures to his face as well as a head injury.
It is also understood that he was due to undergo surgery to save his eye and was to be transferred to a critical care unit.
