Crime Prevention Advice

Vehicle Crime
Rochdale North Neighbourhood has noticed an increase of theft of vehicles especially in the Norden, Spotland and Falinge, Healey and Milkstone and Deeplish areas and so far there does not appear to be a pattern of a particular type of vehicle. Also theft from vehicles are on the increase.

Most areas have had leaflet drops warning people of the increase and to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour by ringing 101.

We advise you to:

  • Remove all items of property when you leave your vehicle including Sat Navs and their mounting cradles and wipe away any 'sucker marks'.
  • Consider leaving your glove box open to show that it is empty.
  • Secure your vehicle with an immobiliser, alarm or tracking device.
  • Always keep your vehicle locked, even if you only leave it for a few seconds.
  • Please remember - while you're not looking someone else is.
