Ambulance replacement fundraising campaign

Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team (RPMRT) has received two grant awards for funding towards the RPMRT ‘Mobile 2’ Ambulance Fundraising Campaign.

A spokesman for RPMRT said: "The Leathersellers’ Charitable Fund has awarded a grant of £1,000 and the Big Lottery Fund a grant of £10,000 through the Awards For All scheme. This total of £11,000 is a huge step forward towards the cost of a new ambulance, and we thank them both for their generous awards, but it still leaves £24,000 to raise".

Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team run a fleet of four four-wheel-drive ambulances. Their border traces a line from Whitefield in the south, Rochdale and Littleborough, Earby, Barnoldswick, Clitheroe, Blackburn, Darwen, Bolton and Bury.

Mobile 2 is a Land Rover Defender 110 that will reach its tenth birthday next year and will reach the end of its serviceable life as an ambulance.
