Rush hour chaos predicted as bikers stage fuel protest
Date published: 05 June 2008
There is expected to be a 'go slow' fuel protest by motorcyclists to coincide with rush hour this morning, Thursday 5 June.
The protest is scheduled to start at 8am from Birch Services on the M62 near Middleton. Disruption is expected on the M62 and M60 into Manchester, with the organisers planning to enter Manchester via Salford Quays.
The organisers are hoping to be joined by other motorists en route so the extent of the disruption is hard to predict. Commuters are therefore being advised to allow extra time for their journey - particularly if travelling by car or bus.
