A Rochdale businessman, Tim Richardson of Turnstone Developments, is a member of the Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team taking part in the 'Rossendale Way In A Day', a 46 mile circular long distance sponsored walk, starting from Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary near Edenfield, crossing a wide variety of terrain clockwise around the Rossendale Valley. The 46 mile walk starts at 5:30am on Saturday 5 July and will take anywhere from 12 to 18 hours to complete.
For the less adventurous, the 22 mile 'Halfway in a Day' starts from The Deerplay public house, near Bacup, on the same day, at 9:00am, and is a linear route, following the Rossendale Way in a clockwise direction back to the finish at Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary.
The event is staged by Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team, which is operated by a group of volunteers who rely entirely on fundraising and donations to meet the rising costs of maintaining this critical emergency service.
For more information about the walk, or for an application form, please contact Tim Richardson.
