Date published: 01 September 2014

Rochdale Council Leader, Councillor Richard Farnell has praised the Feel Good Festival and says it "reflects very well on Rochdale".

The two day festival, in its seventh year, attracted the largest crowd ever, with upwards of 10,000 people attending.

Highlghts included cooking demostrations by celebrity chefs on stage and music on the main stage on Saturday night headlined by Scotuing for Girls and supported by Selecter.

Councillor Farnell said: “I think it’s great how the festival has grown in popularity and profile. Rochdale Feel Good Festival is a real family event, with great community backing and it gets bigger every year.

"There was a real buzz around town, with many people telling us this year has been the best yet.

"It’s the most eagerly awaited event on our calendar and I think it reflects very well on Rochdale.

"Events like this don’t happen without a lot of hard work and behind the famous names and attractions are many months of hard work.

"I was very pleased to see our local talent getting such a good reception from the crowds and I want to thank the thousands who came down to support the festival.”
