Work undertaken at Middle Hill quarry to help with development of Crook Hill Wind Farm
Date published: 28 August 2014
Work being undertaken at Middle Hill Quarry is to help with the development of Crook Hill Wind Farm.
Passers by recently observed quarry activity and mechanical vehicles on site and were concerned about what was being undertaken.
It is understood that the quarry is currently being quarried to provide the builders of the wind farm with rocks to use on the access road. This way, this stops trucks having to deliver rocks to the site and damaging the land.
Representatives for Partnerships for Renewables, the company building Crook Hill Wind Farm have stated that "the quarry will be re-landscaped once work is completed".
The quarrying is due to be finished by the end of September with turbine work due to begin in October.
