On Saturday 22 August, Councillor Sameena Zaheer organised a clean up in the back alley of Hereford and Derby street, in which local residents and members of REAG took part in.
More than 20 residents took part in the clean up, tidying bushes, plants and removing the mess from the back alley.
Ghulam Rasul Shahzad OBE, Secretary of REAG, thanked Councillor Zaheer for organising the clean up and said he was very pleased to see a large number of residents from the area taking part.
Ghulam said: “Councillor Sameena Zaheer has taken it a as a personal duty as a resident, we should all take responsibility to keep Britain and Rochdale tidy.
“Rochdale is a beautiful town and we can all make it more beautiful and attractive for outsiders to visit.”
