Front line staff at Rochdale Borough Council's Customer Service Centres are wearing new uniforms.
The new look, black suits with a white shirt or blouse, a green tie or scarf, has been rolled out to staff who work in customer service centres and public receptions.
Councillor Keith Swift, Cabinet Member for Townships and Corporate Management said it is important that staff have an identity that reflects the council's corporate image: "The uniforms project a positive professional image and now staff can be easily recognised. Customers can be reassured that they are receiving a first class service from fully trained professionals."
John Foley, Assistant Customer Service Manager at the Middleton Customer Service Centre said that feedback from staff has been really positive: "Staff have been involved at every stage, including design and selection of fabrics, some were hesitant at first but they are all happy with the new look."
Middleton Customer Service Centre offers advice and support on council services, including benefits, housing, education and environmental issues.
