Armed robbery in Middleton - man arrested

A man has been arrested following an armed robbery at a cafe in Middleton.
On Tuesday 20 May, police were called to arts and craft centre on Townley Street Middleton shortly before 3pm.
The offender spoke briefly to the shop assistant then pulled a gun from a bag.
He made the assistant lie on the floor while he stole cash from the till.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery.
Detectives are appealing for any information in relation to this incident.
Detective Inspector Daryl Chadwick of Rochdale CID said: "If anyone witnessed this incident or has any information that could assist the investigation, please get in touch.
"Rochdale police will not tolerate the use of firearms."
