Operation Maverick to tackle Rochdale borough’s rogue landlords
Operation Maverick will take action against landlords forcing tenants to live in overcrowded, unsafe or squalid conditions.
Mark Widdup, Director of Economy and Environment for Rochdale Borough Council, said: “Operation Maverick has been launched to tackle landlords who are making the lives of tenants a misery. Whether it be overcrowding, unsafe conditions or any other kind of suffering caused - we are here to bring the perpetrators to justice.”
Already this year, the Operation Maverick enforcement team has carried out 150 targeted visits across the borough, resulting in a number of enforcement results.
Operation Maverick officers will continue to visit properties, provide information for residents and take action where necessary.
If you believe that you could be the victim of a rogue landlord or if you suspect that somebody else is – report it.
