On Friday 28 February the children in the Foundation Unit had enormous fun, kite flying on the playground as part of their Entry Point “ Up, Up and Away” Topic . Parents were also invited to come and support the children and join in with the fun activity.

Over the past few months the M6 Theatre has been working with a group of our children and Miss Wild within the weekly Drama Club. Recently the group performed within a competitive section of the Rochdale Music Festival and were awarded “Highly Commended”. This is a fantastic achievement – well done to all of our drama group and thank you to Miss Wild for supporting our children!

Citizens of the Week for week ending 7 March were the Hamer Drama Group for their outstanding performance at the Rochdale Music & Speech Festival. Well Done!

On Monday 3 March our Year 6 Community Cohesion Ambassadors joined with the Ambassadors from Marland Hill for a session with two local magistrates. This was an extremely informative session which explored how to keep safe from the point of view of the law and unpicked actions and consequences. We are very proud of both the contribution and attitude of our Year 6 Ambassadors’; they represented our school community brilliantly!

To ensure the smooth running of lunch times, after the Easter Holidays any changes to lunch time preferences – school dinners/packed lunches/ home dinners etc. will only be available to be made on a half termly basis. Thank you for your co-operation.

Any child who goes home for their dinner will be expected to be picked up by an adult on their consent form and signed out accordingly. On return to school, in readiness for the 1.00pm start, the adult will also be expected to sign the child back in. Thank You.
