MP donates winnings to Milnrow Youth Club

Date published: 29 December 2013

Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk has handed over a cheque for £750 to Milnrow Youth Club.

Mr Danczuk won the £750 for charity by coming second in the Parliamentary Pool Knockout Competition. He beat both Labour and Conservative MPs to get through to the final but got beat by a journalist in the final match.

M Danczuk said: "This is the second year I've come runner up in the Parliamentary Pool Competition - it's really a bit of fun, though getting the chance to earn money for a local good cause is great. I'm pleased to have donated the money to Milnrow Youth Club this year and I hope they do something interesting with the money. Last year we got Littleborough Youth Club a pool table.

"I must say a special thanks to Riley's for sponsoring the event, they really are good sports and put on a brilliant competition."
