Your Ice Cold Heart - Anti bullying week

Date published: 27 November 2013

Your Ice Cold Heart

Unaware how it started,
You turned my heart into ashes,
I gave you a smile,
Soon took away,
I’d like it back if that’s okay.

I wonder if your hearts a stone,
Because you left mine alone,
People around are all so rude,
Especially you, who has a bad mood.

Tears roll down all my face,
I truly think you’re not great,
You made yourself as tall as a tower,
Shrunk me down so I had no power.

You saw the pain inside my eyes,
Though breaking me down was not kind,
No one now glances at me,
You think you’ve won a war so big,
But you got nothing so just continue to dig.

Your words have got the best of me,
But you were never meant to be,
Lies, rumours all so mean,
But you just another ordinary teen.

Written by Adelaide, Hajira and Primrose from class 6

St. John’s RC Primary  has been taking part in the anti-bullying campaign to raise awareness of the trauma bullying causes to victims of the crime.

As well as buying anti-bullying wristbands to support the cause, children have been working together in their classes to understand the dangers of bullying, how to identify it and who to turn to it if happens to them or their friends.

Each class focussed on a different aspect of bullying, the themes included friends, kindness, being individual, physical and verbal bullying and cyber bullying.

This brilliant poem, written by Adelaide, Hajira and Primrose from class 6 shows the pain and suffering a victim of bullying can feel.
