Middleton Reindeer Parade

Date published: 17 November 2013

Residents in Middleton gathered around Middleton Gardens for a Reindeer Parade with Father Christmas this morning (Sunday 17 November). The parade ended Middleton's Christmas lights switch on festivities, which took place yesterday (Saturday 16 November).

The parade saw Santa being pulled on his sleigh by reindeers. The parade started at Middleton Shopping Centre and met excited children by McDonalds.

Santa then made his way around the gardens and to the bus station where a pen was set out for the reindeer and children could meet Santa and have photos taken with him.

Dawn Booth, who attended the parade with her grandchildren, said: "It has been lovely. It has been the first time for one of my grandchildren and they loved it."

Sally Sadiq, who brought her children along to see Santa, said: "It has been nice for the children to see Santa and the reindeer. It is the first time we have been but it was great."

Rachel Smith said: "I expected more people as well but the kids have enjoyed it."

Natalie Lord, who attended with her son Harrison Amos, said: It has been really lovely." Harrison added: "I got to meet Father Christmas and have a photo with him."

Sarah Ireland attended the full parade this year. She said: "We usually only come for the end but managed to come for it all this year. It was very good."
