Meeting starts.

Councillor Lambert describes the time as difficult after announcing council pay rises.

He says they have listened to the public in regards to pay rises and have deferred the issue to another meeting.

Car parking charges.

Bank holiday charge issues are being raised. It is proposed that bank holiday charges be axed.

Councillor Lambert and his party agree to the proposal and propose free parking during Christmas sales.

Labour Party wants to see parking charges abolished over Christmas as a way to help local businesses.

Parking charges - motion carried.

Protecting the British pub.

Councillor Brett wants to make sure a community pub is used as that and only that.

Rochdale Hornets.

Councillor Lambert wants to celebrate success in sport.

Mayor Rush thanks councillor a for kind words about Hornets. Motion passed.

Councillor Kelly asks Councillor Lambert if he is confident that he has the support of businesses and the public after this past week.

Councillor Lambert feels his party has the support of the public and feels that will grow after he says they have listened to the public.

Councillor Dearnley states that a similar situation to this week will arise in six weeks by deferring the pay rise issue.

Councillor Mulgrew states that people can't understand why so much time has been spent discussing senior pay when there are other issues.

Business rates and council tax issues are being discussed.

Right Bin Right Stuff campaign has reduced contaminated bins to just 6%.

Councillor Beswick says council is very prepared for the winter ahead.

Councillor Stott asks for youth zone to be included in town centre development plans.

Councillor Kelly wants the council to consider building a civic theatre in Rochdale Town Centre.

Councillor Kelly asks for a round of applause from councillors regarding the success of Milnrow Brass Band.

The Tour De France is coming to the Borough next year.
