Littleborough coffee shop ransacked
Date published: 17 October 2013
At 1.30am Monday 14 October three lads kicked down back gate of Rebecca's coffee shop in Littleborough and forced entry via the back door to get into the coffee shop.
The intruders took the alarm off the front outside wall, cut the BT line, and ripped out the alarm inside the building.
They stole the money from the till, broke the coffee machine, ransacked the stock and fridge and threw eggs all over the inside of the shop.
A neighbour said he saw three hooded males around 20 years of age running off, but didn’t see who they were.
Rebecca Chadwick, owner of Rebecca's, said: “I found out about it when I got to work on Monday at 8.00am. I called the police, but before I could do anything the police had arrived. Forensics arrived to finger print the place, but said they had all been wearing gloves.
“Whoever did this knew the layout of the building; they knew what they were doing.
“It took four people 20 hours to clean up the mess and the landlord fixed all the urgent repairs.
“We were back open for business yesterday (Wednesday 16 October).”
