NADRA hold surgery in Rochdale

Date published: 14 October 2013

The National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) held a surgery in Rochdale on Saturday 12 October to help people with applications for the issue of National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).

The surgery dealt with over 120 applications.

Applicants on the day included older people, disabled people, and mothers with small children and people suffering from various illnesses who could not travel.

The identity cards are issued for seven years and act as a visa for people with British passports.

Ghulam Rasul Shahzad OBE and Chairman of Action for Pakistan International has been running these surgeries for three years and said: “It was the busiest day since we started running the surgeries.

"The NADRA team, headed by Umer Riaz, worked non stop from 10am to 3pm. This excellent service has benefited thousands of members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri community in and around Rochdale."

The next surgery will be held on Saturday 16 November. Anyone intending to apply for a NICOP card at this event should call 01706 645200 and make an appointment.
