Hopwood Hall College has achieved the Investors in Diversity Award.
The Investors in Diversity stage two award is an all-encompassing approach to managing equality, diversity and inclusion effectively throughout the College. Achieving the award can take many years, but Hopwood Hall College has accomplished it in eight months.
The Award was given after the National Centre for Diversity team met with almost 100 College staff, managers, students and governors to assess the College’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI).
Principal Derek O’Toole commented: “We are delighted with this award, recognising as it does the College’s continued best practise in the realm of equality, diversity and inclusion. The values reflected by this award are at the core of what we do as a learning community. The award also reflects the hard work and commitment of all our staff and students.”
Nimisha Mistry, Head of Student Support and Equality, added: “The best part of the process was hearing about the positive views and experiences that many students have whilst attending Hopwood Hall College.
"The award is a measure of the College's on-going commitment to promote and embed a culture of EDI practices across the organisation.”
The College has also been successful in their renewal of the two ticks’ disability award, which is part of its continued support for EDI initiatives.
