RBH Supported Housing Service nominated for award

Date published: 10 October 2013

Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) employees working in the Supported Housing Service are celebrating after their hard work was recognised with a nomination for “Care & Support Provider of the Year” in the prestigious 24 Housing Awards.

Peter Smith, RBH Support and Independence Manager, said: “Recognition through the 24 Housing nomination is both welcome and pleasing, and enables employees, the company as a whole and tenants to recognise the excellent work of the service.

"We are committed to providing a high quality, flexible and innovative service to support vulnerable tenants in our communities to live independently and safely and to help manage their needs, as our re-accreditation with the Centre for Housing Support code of practice earlier this year showed”

The RBH Supported Housing Service manages 26 sheltered housing schemes supporting over 1,200 tenants and the community support service helps vulnerable tenants to maintain their tenancies.

Jon Longden, RBH Head of Access And Tenancy Support, said: "This is a great honour for our employees and also a reflection of the hard work of our tenants through both our Sheltered Housing in Partnership Group and local residents groups."
