The Year 7 football team took on their most difficult opponent yet, playing Wardle High School. Despite having to make last minute changes to the team, they managed to squeeze an important 4-2 victory from the match. There were notable performances from the Johnson brothers, Andrew Hill, Ethan Dale making his début, Harry Toogood, Ryan Larkin and Oli Godwin. This was a squad effort so also remember Eliot Rogers, Joe Noon, super-sub Patrick Hadfield, Daniel Collins and Luis Cross. Mr Pullen’s Man of the Match was Steven Johnson.

Year 8 lost their second game in two weeks against a resilient Holy Family. The final score finished Oulder Hill 1 – 3 Holy Family. Mr Bardsley’s Man of the Match was Hayden Lewis – excellent work rate, bossing the midfield area. The Year 8 team’s next opponents are Hollingworth.

On Wednesday 16 October, the school will be having its first Immersion Day of this school year. Each year group will be involved in a variety of activities.

Year 7s will be undertaking some teambuilding activities in school, working with a team from Burrs Activity Centre. They will also be working in their form groups on Friendship activities, exploring what makes a good friendship.

Year 11 Immersion Day will be all about interviews, College applications and writing Personal Statements. In preparation for Immersion Day we are giving pupils the chance to apply for a job that interests them, from the selection available in school. On Immersion day, successful applicants will be interviewed by outside agencies to give them practice for future interviews. Please encourage your child to apply! It will be a great experience for them.
