Classic and Vintage Vehicle Show

Date published: 06 October 2013

Ellenroad Engine House held their first ever Classic and Vintage Vehicle Show today. Over 60 vehicles exhibited ranging from vintage Rolls Royce’s, military trucks, vintage Jaguars, Mini Coopers and a handmade kit car. There really was a vehicle there to suit all tastes.

The very popular Saddleworth Clog & Garland Dancers put on a performance in the main hall.

Philip Yates, Ellenroad Treasurer, commented: “We would like to thank all the exhibitors who supported us today and made our first ever Classic and Vintage Vehicle Show a great success. We look forward to seeing you all at next year’s event.”

Ellenroad Engine is home to the world’s largest working steam mill engines – Victoria and Alexandra – which are still housed in their original locations.

Ellenroad Engine House is open and in steam the first Sunday of every month. Run entirely by volunteers they are always looking to increase their numbers.

Mr Yates said: "If you have any time spare, whether that be an hour a month or more, get in touch and see how you can help preserve the past for future generations."
