Saif Ali Azeez meets Prime Minister

Date published: 04 October 2013

Saif Ali Azeez, a year 5 pupil at Beech House School, Rochdale, had a private audience with the Prime Minister, David Cameron.

Saif was selected from people attending the Big Iftar event in Manchester to meet with the Prime Minister.

Mr Cameron spoke to Saif and congratulated him on his academic excellence.

Beech House School head teacher Kevin Sartain said: “He is a very good pupil and the Prime Minister was certainly impressed with him.”

The Big Iftar event, which took place in August, encourages Muslim communities to welcome their non-Muslim friends and neighbours as guests to their local mosques and centres to join them in sharing Iftar during Ramadan.

Mr Sartain added: “It was a certainly a proud moment for the school, as I’m sure it was for the parents.”
