Models put their best foot forward at Beales

Date published: 03 October 2013

Shoppers were in for a real treat at Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre, when they came face to face with live models in Beales’ department store window.

Beales held a fashion extravanganza last Saturday 28 September, alongside the ladies from the No. 7 beauty counter at Boots and Gregory Couzens Hair Salon.

Shoppers watched as the models (all local women from Rochdale) stood in the window at different intervals, paraded on the shopping mall and experienced the glamour of being a supermodel by having hair and make-up done by the experts.

Keith Rudman, Department Store Manager for Beales says: “This was a fantastic event bringing together fellow traders to inject some style back into Rochdale. Although it was slightly unorthodox, it was a great way to be able to showcase new fashion and new trends, along with hair and beauty tips with leading stylist Gregory Couzens. ”

The event tipped its hat to the 1980s movie ‘Mannequin’ where actress Kim Cattrall changes from a mannequin in a shop window into a real life woman.

Shoppers were able to get advice throughout the day on Saturday and were entertained by live music as department store Manager Keith took on the role as DJ.

The public even took part in the demonstrations with Greg using ladies from the audience as styling assistants.

The models were also on hand to showcase eye-wear at Vision Express when they formed a real life visual display for the opticians.
