Our theme for this half term is welcome and new beginnings. This week’s enterprise word was risk. Our Saint of the week was St Francis of Assisi. Born in Assisi, Italy in 1182 to a rich family of merchants. He had a vision of Jesus telling him from the cross to “Repair my Church”, meaning the whole Church as a world-wide community, not just its buildings. Francis took himself away from his family to pray and offered his whole life to God. Francis put in place a rule for his companions to live by which led to the creation of the Franciscan Order.
As we enter October, we dedicate the month to the Holy Rosary. Mass is celebrated weekly in the chapel on Wednesday lunchtime by Fr. Martin Collins. This week the readings and prayers were led by 10.4.
