Three arrested in raid on brothel

Brothel closed down
Three people have been arrested in connection with a brothel being operated from a flat on Oldham Road, Rochdale.
A 46-year-old man from Rochdale was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence offences and also for management of a brothel.
A 39-year-old woman from Rochdale was arrested on suspicion of running the brothel and a 29-year-old man from Blackley was arrested on suspicion of human trafficking.
Officers are currently interviewing the suspects and speaking to witnesses in connection with this investigation and are making enquiries to establish whether women were working voluntarily or if they have been trafficked into the country.
Inspector Umer Khan, of Rochdale North INPT, said: "These arrests demonstrate that we have listened to the general concerns of the community and taken direct action.
"This investigation is at an early stage and we appeal to anyone who has any information in connection with the establishment or links to come forward and speak to us."
