The Year 7 football team continued their winning streak with an 8-1 away against Matthew Moss. The whole squad was: Kyle Binns, Andrew Hill, Steven Johnson, Thomas Johnson, Ryan Larkin, Jack Ashton, Dale Huszar, Harry Toogood, Oliver Godwin, Bradley Gregory, Daniel Collins, Joe Noon, Patrick Hadfield and Eliot Rogers. The whole team played really well, but Mr Pullen and Mr Matley chose Harry Toogood as Man of the Match, well done Harry.

Well done to the Year 9 football team who beat St Anne’s Academy 9-0. The goals were shared between the squad members: Luke Straszewski, Ben Howarth, Dominic Boothman, Owen Harrison, William Moore, Joe Wrest, Daniel Cryer, Steven Nairn, Brandon Coughlan, Brandon Kwei-Sutcliffe, Will Taylor, Cameron Filkin, and Jamie Ogden. Mr Pickles’ Star Performers were Steven Nairn and Owen Harrison.

The Year 10 football team started their season with a 4-3 win away at Middleton Technology School. The squad did well to fight back from two goals down to gain a vital away win, showing excellent attitude and temperament, and displaying excellent defensive skills to hold on for the three points. The squad members were: Jacob Ellis, Jake Naylor, Alex Wilcock, Corey Hill, Morgan Stubbs, Bailey Smyth, Ewan Johnson, Adam Rushden, Buck Parker, Joshua Matthews, Jamie Pope, Charlie Hill and Eammon Moore. Mr Noon and Mr Kelly nominated Jake Naylor as their Man of the Match.

The Year 8 football team started their season with an away match at St Cuthberts, which despite playing well, they lost 3-5. The squad were: Daniel Madeley, Matthew Greenwood, Dayne Stewart, Jack Turner, Marcus Welsby, Hakeem Gbajabiamila, Emmerson Bradshaw, Nelson McKeown, Danny Devine, Tom Booth and Jordan Parkhill. Mr Bardsley’s outstanding performers were Nelson McKeown (scored three goals) and Matthew Greenwood.

The Year 7 and 10 netball teams began their season with away matches against Cardinal Langley. The girls played really well against very strong opposition, and were unfortunate to come away with defeats. The girls all showed promise, and are looking forward to their next matches in the highly competitive leagues.
