Earlier this week Mr Lonsdale, the Headteacher at Falinge Park High School came into school to spend some time with our current Year 6 children. The workshop addressed many of the questions, concerns and considerations that our Year 6 children have at this time of year as decisions about Secondary School placements are made. We were delighted with Mr Lonsdale positive feedback about the attitudes and behaviour of our children. Well done!

For those of you with children in Year 6, you will have received information in the post at home regarding the process for securing a Secondary School place for your child. It is vital that this is done by October 31st 2013 to avoid issues around placements. The Year 6 staff have been in touch with parents to offer support, please ensure to ask if there is anything that you are unsure of.

Our Year 6 representatives enjoyed another valuable session with our friends at Marland Hill this week through our collaborative ‘Active Community Learning’ Project. We also look forward to joining with friends from Rochdale College and working in partnership with the local Police, Councillors and Magistrates as the project develops during this academic year.

The Citizens of the week are Mrs Casey’s Class for a fantastic assembly all about Dinosaurs. Well done!! Thank you for your support in attending our assemblies. The children are so proud when they know that friends and family are celebrating with them

The children in the Nursery are settling in extremely well to their new routines. We would like to thank those of you with new Nursery children for working in partnership with Miss Bradshaw and the Staff in the Unit to support your child’s transition. We are pleased to say how smart they look and how proud they all are of coming to Nursery in their Uniforms.

We have worked hard over the past few years as a School Community to improve our attendance as a school. This is now above National averages for all Schools in England and Wales which is a superb achievement. Please support us to ensure that this continues. We need our children to be in school for them to be given a change at fulfilling their potential.
