The driver of this pick-up truck left a motorcyclist injured in the road following a collision
A man left a motorcyclist injured in the road following a collision in Rochdale.
At about 2.05pm on Sunday 22 September 2013, a motorcyclist was riding a moped when he was involved in a collision with a vehicle, described as a 4x4 single cab pick-up on Ashworth Road, Ashworth Fold.
The driver of the pick-up stopped only to swear at the man before driving off towards Heywood.
Paramedics attended and took the man to hospital for treatment to a broken leg that has subsequently required three separate operations.
PC Peter Wray, from the Roads Policing Unit, said: "There can have been no doubt in the driver's mind that not only had he been involved in a collision but that the motorcyclist was seriously hurt.
"To drive off and leave a person injured in the road is shameless but to then aim a torrent of abuse at them defies belief.
"I would encourage anyone with information about the driver or vehicle involved to contact me."
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 8473.
