Court date set for pair charged with causing/allowing a child to suffer serious physical harm

A court date has been set for a couple who face charges of causing/allowing a child to suffer serious physical harm.
The pair will stand trial starting 7 April 2014 with a pre court hearing being set for 12 November 2013.
An investigation was launched in April 2013, when a 10-year-old girl was admitted to hospital for treatment to severe malnutrition, gross nutritional deficiencies, a distended abdomen and chronic ulcers.
The trial will take place at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.
