A call to contemporary visual artists based in Rochdale borough

Date published: 25 September 2013

Contemporary art practitioners working across painting, sculpture, print, photography, performance, video, installation and mixed media are welcome to join with Ebor Studio, Hive Projects and Touchstones Rochdale in creating a new artists network in Rochdale borough.

Ebor Studio is based in Littleborough and is an independent artist-run studio facility with professional artists’ studios and a programme of public events and courses; Hive Projects exists for the support of artists and the promotion of contemporary art practice and is located in Rochdale borough and Touchstones Rochdale is the borough’s arts and heritage centre located on The Esplanade, Rochdale and is part of Link4Life’s Arts & Heritage Service.

The three organisations are working in partnership to establish Rochdale Artists' Network (RAN) as a way for individual contemporary artists to come together to share and discuss their practice and create a supportive network of like-minded practitioners, which doesn’t currently exist in the borough. Artists are often working in isolation and RAN will provide regular, informal opportunities to meet up. Recent graduates are very welcome.

The first meeting of the network will be at Touchstones Rochdale on Saturday 26 October at 2pm.

If you live or work in Rochdale borough and are engaged in contemporary visual art practice RAN would like to hear from you. Email your name and preferred email address to: info@r-a-n.org.uk
