Walk To School Week
During the week 7 to 11 October 2013 we are organising a Walk to School Week to encourage as many children and families to walk to school as possible. The children will be able to collect stickers and earn a reward if they are able to walk to school for the whole week. If you are unable to walk the whole way to school please try to park on Paton Street or Shawclough Way or Whitworth Road and then walk to school.
UNICEF Rights of a Child Article 2
The Rights convention applies to everyone, regardless of race, religion or abilities. Shawclough School inform all children of their rights. Please look out for them on displays around school and ask your child about them.
School Dinners
Our menus are available on the school website and are also displayed on the noticeboard on the school corridor, opposite the school office, along with a small number of copies in the dispenser – please feel free to take one. So you know what week we are currently following there is a list of weekly dates with the corresponding menu number – this is available up to Christmas. Children are able to make their choices one day in advance so they usually get exactly what they have chosen and we don’t run out of a favourite meal. Our good quality meals are £1.90 per day i.e. £9.50 per week.
No Smoking
Just a reminder that Shawclough is a ‘No Smoking School’, which means that smoking is not allowed in any part of the school and grounds. Please help us by supporting this policy.
Dogs
Reminder – please do not bring dogs onto the school site. Thank you.
Clubs
If you are collecting children from one of our clubs, which have now started, please wait for your child in the reception area.
