Springhill Hospice Midnight Walk

Coronation Street actor Sam Aston set walkers off on their midnight walk in aid of Springhill Hospice this morning (Sunday 22 September).
The annual walk saw 260 ladies and gentlemen take part in either a six mile or 13 mile walk.
Income Services manager for Springhill Hospice, Sarah Ford said: “It is a brilliant event for people to get involved in.”
Walkers set off from Middleton Arena at 12am and headed through Rhodes, Hopwood, Heywood (where the 6 mile walk ended), Castleton, Slattocks and then back down towards Middleton.
Linda Proctor, who was taking part in her fourth midnight walk. said: “I just wanted to help raise some money really.”
Catherine Widdrington was taking part in her first midnight walk after her best friend's mum died from cancer - she was being cared for by Macmillan nurses. She said: “I have roped my work colleagues into doing it with me. Its just such a good cause to raise money for.”
