Daniel Birch jailed for burglary

Date published: 18 September 2013

Daniel Birch (05/03/1990) of Kildare Crescent, Kirkholt has been sentenced to 18 months imprisonment for burglary at an address in Rochdale.

In July 2013 Birch stole item inlcuding an iPad, iPhone and cash to value of £1375.00. He then stole the victims car and escaped.

Inspector Umer Khan said: “This man showed no regard for the rights or the feelings of his victims.

"Our officers worked hard to link him to the crime and bring him to justice. I hope the time behind bars will enable this man to reflect on his actions and the impact he has had on his victims.

“Burglary is a terrible crime, the effects of which remain with the victims long after the offence is committed. People often feel upset that a stranger has been in their home. Children in particular can be very frightened and may need reassurance even if they don’t talk much about what’s happened.

It is for this reason, tackling the issue of burglary is one of our top priorities and every day we are taking action to tackle these crimes.”
