Falinge Park High School

Date published: 18 September 2013

School have decided to arrange a Marathon Event to raise funds for ‘Save the Children’. A member of our staff, Mr. Andi Jones is going to run in the World Marathon Event which takes place all over the world between 16 and 23 October.

The idea is that our pupils are going to run around our school playing field and try to beat Andi’s time in his marathon. They can do as much or as little running as they desire in the hour, and they will run as a relay team.

They will need to bring in £1.00 on the day so that funds can be raised, and if they wish to raise more money, they can also complete a sponsor form which will shortly be handed to students. Letters will shortly be issued to students to bring home. It will take place on Wednesday 16 October and will include students in Years 7, 8 and 9.

We are pleased to inform you that Falinge park High School is moving to an online payment system from Monday 23 September 2013. This will initially be introduced for payment of school meals only. It will provide a safe, secure and easy way to pay online for school meals. Students will be bringing home letters shortly with instructions on how to register.

On Wednesday 2 October 2013, a range of colleges, 6th Forms and Apprenticeship providers have been invited into school to provide Post 16 information and advice to our Year 11 students. Students will be invited to attend a 1 hour session during the day. Letters will shortly be sent home inviting Year 11 parents to attend from 3.15pm to 5.15pm if they wish to find out about opportunities for their children after leaving school. Parents of students in Year 10 are also invited to attend. The event will take place in the Upper Year Centre.

Tickets for our Arts and Curry Night are now on sale and many thanks to those who have bought tickets so far. The evening takes place on Friday 22 November from 6pm until 8pm and tickets cost £5.00 including food and entertainment. There will be a range of curry dishes, Indian snacks and so forth to try and an evening of music, dance, drama and quizzes. The evening is perfect family entertainment for all friends of the school.
