Promised that the green-belt would be protected
Date published: 14 September 2013
"We were promised that the green-belt would be protected, only to find that it is under threat because we need more housing," says Philip Griffiths, UKIP North West Chairman.
"Now the planning minister Nick Boles wants new development to be allowed on national parks.
"The reason, of course, is because of years of mass immigration, which has not only increased the demand for housing, but also placed an extra burden on schools, the NHS, water and energy and much more.
"Until this Conservative-led coalition government takes proper control of immigration (which as long as we remain members of the EU they can't) then the demand will keep increasing until our green and pleasant land is concreted over.
"Like Labour before them they simply cannot be trusted to govern our country."
