Man arrested following town centre rape

It is understood a 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged rape in Rochdale town centre.

The rape was reported at 8.18am on Sunday 8 September and the area between the Royal Bank of Scotland and the Regal Moon was cordened off and police forensics searched the scene.

Greater Manchester Police have confirmed the arrest.
