Date published: 09 September 2013

Police have released a CCTV image after a man robbed Althams in Littleborough.

At 10.22am on Friday 16 August 2013, the offender walked into the branch on Church Street, pulled out a knife and ordered all staff to get into the back.

He then made threats to the victims, stole a large amount of cash in Euros and ordered that the back door be opened up for him.

The offender left out of this door and onto the alleyway.

He is described as being a white man, of stocky build, in his early 30s and about 5ft 10 in tall. He was wearing a grey beanie hat, black jacket, blue jeans and black gloves.

Detective Constable Hannah Greetham said: "This was a terrifying experience for the victims, although thankfully none of them were hurt.

"We have carried out a number of enquiries since this incident, and would urge anyone who may recognise the man pictured to call us."

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 8552 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
