Local health trust celebrates ten years

Date published: 09 September 2013

People are invited to come along to Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Annual General Meeting.

Pennine Care is a leading provider of community and mental health services. It provides care in the boroughs of Rochdale, Bury, Oldham, Stockport, Tameside and Glossop and Trafford.

The event will take place on Wednesday 2 October and will celebrate a decade of improvements to health services, which have benefitted many thousands of people. The Annual Report and Accounts for 2012/13 will also be officially presented.

It will be led by members of the Trust Board and the Council of Governors, who will talk about Pennine Care’s many achievements between 2002 and 2012/13.

John Schofield, Trust Chairman, said: “I’d like to personally extend a warm invitation to our Annual General Meeting.

“We’re very proud of what Pennine Care has achieved over the last ten years and want to share these achievements with those who are directly benefitting.

“At the same time, we recognise that there is still work to be done to improve the quality of patient care and deliver efficiencies. During the meeting, we will share our plans for how we are working to deliver this over the coming months and years.

“Despite the challenges facing us, we look forward to delivering many more improvements for the benefit of our local communities.”

The meeting is open to members of the public, Foundation Trust members, staff and partner organisations. It is being held at Radcliffe Civic Suite, Thomas Street, Radcliffe, M26 2UH.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served from 4.30pm and the Trust’s community choir will launch the proceedings at 5.15pm. The meeting will officially begin at 5.30pm and will end around 7pm.

For catering purposes people are asked to confirm their attendance at the event by emailing ftmembership.penninecare@nhs.net or phoning the Membership Office on 0161 716 3960/3374.

People are welcome to ask questions during the meeting. However, they are asked to please send these through in advance to enable the Trust Board to thoroughly respond on the day. Questions can be submitted by the email address above.
