Springhill Hospice held their summer serenade event yesterday evening (Saturday 7 September).
The event was held in conjunction with Rochdale Music Service and included the musical talents of the Cantare Choir, Sax O’Fun and Rochdale Community Wind Band.
Springhill Hospice community fundraiser Lillie Winterbottom said: “This is a regeneration of an old event and we thought it would be a nice way to end summer.”
The event was held to thank supporters of the hospice and to promote the work that the hospice does in the borough.
Lillie added: “It is an event that anyone could attend whether it be someone on their own, a group of friends or a family, it is about creating a nice and chilled atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.”
The event included a raffle with all the prizes being donated to the hospice.
Lillie gave credit for the organisation to Richard Charlton from Rochdale Music Service and said: “Richard has dealt with most of the arrangements and with so many volunteers willing to help, there doesn’t become a lot to organise.”
The hospice regularly fundraises and holds a variety of events throughout the year.
“Any money raised today will help the hospice but it's really about saying thank you to everyone,” said Lillie.
