St Luke’s Church Family Fun Day

St Luke’s Church in Deeplish, Rochdale held a family fun day this afternoon (Saturday 7 September) to encourage locals in the area to visit the church.
Organiser of the event, Doreen Smith said: “We wanted to remind people that we are still here and wanted to reach out to the wider community and to the Asian community to invite them into the church.”
The fun day included a bouncy castle, obstacle course, face painting, hook a duck, treasure hunt and games including a tombola and lucky dip. Refreshment were also available.
The church has held events like this before so have a format for organising the event. Doreen added: “Because we have done them before there isn’t much too organise but it took about two hours to get ready today.
“We just want to have a really fun day with the community and hope everyone joins in with the fun.”
