Link4Life on the ball to make someone’s day

Link4Life, the boroughs cultural and leisure trust, will be giving some deserving local residents a ‘Day to Remember’ when the Rugby League World Cup 2013 comes to the borough next month.

The organisation, which runs the council owned leisure facilities in the borough including Middleton Arena, Heywood Sports Village, Rochdale Leisure Centre and Touchstones Arts & Heritage Centre has signed up to the tournaments ‘Day to Remember’ scheme. Link4Life, which has overseen £34 million of investment in new facilities in the borough in the last five years, will provide complimentary tickets for deserving local people.

The company was set up in 2007 to provide residents and visitors the opportunity to lead healthy, creative and active lifestyles.

Board Vice-Chairman Kevin Finnegan said Link4Life is fully behind Rugby League World Cup 2013: “Right from the beginning Link4Life has been supporting this game, and are actively involved in both organising elements of the event and promoting it to as wide an audience as possible.

"The Rugby League World Cup in Rochdale is a massive event and with less than a couple of months to go we wanted to extend our involvement to ensure some really deserving local people who might have otherwise missed out will be at Spotland Stadium to enjoy this unique sporting occasion.”
