Luke Taylor has been selected as part of a squad to represent Greater Manchester East and Central Lancashire East in the 2013 Lancashire Cricket Board U16s Festival which comprises of one and two day competitions.
Luke has played cricket since he was eight years old after being inspired by his dad playing the sport and his dad is also a coach for one of his teams.
The young cricket star, a student at Wardle Academy, currently plays for Littleborough U15s, U18s, Senior 3rds Team, Senior 2nds Team and Rochdale District U15s. He has won several prizes including the 'Manager's player of the year 2012' and 'Batting Prize' for the U13s in 2012. He was also the captain for the district U13s the, in 2012.
Luke said: "Wardle has helped me fulfil my sporting potential by allowing time out of school for district games and trials. The PE department have always been encouraging and supportive towards me and helped to maintain my fitness levels in PE lesssons."
Luke plans to join a college/university team when he leaves Wardle and carry on progressing through the ranks at Littleborough Cricket Club.
