French Day at Healey Primary School

Date published: 19 July 2013

Healey Foundation Primary School organised a French Day on Monday 15 July to celebrate the French national day which occurred the day after and the retirement of Mrs Whitworth, the head of the Modern Foreign Language department.

The children were involved in a variety of events including: French dancing, French Cricket and a mini Tour de France.

The children also watched a French film and enjoyed French food which was paid in Euros.

Mrs Whitworth who helped organise the event said: “I wanted the children to celebrate France but I also have hopes that the school will carry on events like this in the future.

“I wanted the new head of the Modern Foreign Language department to be involved with it as well.

“The day seemed to go really fast and every child I spoke said they really enjoyed it.”
