Gill Brushett won a 24” flat screen colour television for a £2 stake!
Stuart Hindle of Expert Electrical Supplies donated the TV to Middleton Rotary Club Youth & Vocational Projects Committee, which sold squares on a grid at £2 a go raising £200 for youth projects in Middleton, including The Young Citizen Awards’ Evening held at St Anne’s Academy in June, and the funding of three local youngsters for the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Course to be held at Petty Pool in August.
Gill said she was shocked: “I’ve never won anything before. This is great.
"I like to support local causes.”
Sue Furby, Chairwoman of the Youth & Vocational Committee, said: “Without the kind donations of people like Mr Hindle it is so difficult to fundraise to help others. We appreciate his generous donation and thank him, along with all the people who bought squares to support our local youngsters.”
