Careers advice for young people

Date published: 14 June 2013

From the beginning of April, Connexions, the Service that provided Careers Information, Advice, Guidance and Support Services for 13-19 year olds, changed its name to Positive Steps.

Positive Steps advisers provide face-to-face career guidance to young people in schools, academies and colleges and support young people who are not currently in employment, education or training from a variety of locations across the Borough and recently opened a new advice centre on Union Street, Rochdale.

"Despite the change to the name of the service, for young people in need of careers information, advice and guidance, it really is business as usual’’ commented Steve Murphy, PSO’s Director of Guidance Services. "We recognise that in this current economic situation, making the right decisions about employment, education and training are as vital as ever, and many people value the chance to have a face-to-face discussion with a qualified adviser."
