MP’s dinner to raise funds for mayor’s charity appeal
Date published: 10 April 2013
The Mayor of the Borough of Rochdale, Councillor James Gartside
Simon Danczuk MP is hosting a dinner this Friday at Rochdale Town Hall to raise funds for the mayor’s charity appeal.
The three course dinner will have a non political parliamentary theme. Rochdale’s MP has arranged for the Deputy Speaker, Nigel Evans MP, to attend as the main speaker.
The meal will raise funds for Springhill Hospice, Rochdale branch of Parkinson’s UK and Rochdale Blind Welfare Society.
“I see it as my civic duty to support the mayor’s appeal,” said Simon ahead of the event. “This is a great cause and I’m really pleased that the deputy speaker will be entertaining diners. Nigel is a very good speaker and I’m sure he’ll regale everyone with some great tales.”
Tickets to the event, which starts at 7.00pm, are still available and cost £20. For more information contact John Kay on 01706 767409.
