Fantastic - the most Oulder Hill has ever raised

Date published: 18 March 2013

We would like to congratulate and thank all the students for their part in raising a fantastic £1,847.38 on Friday 15 March for Comic Relief which is the most the school have ever raised. Thank you to Ms Ward and the Student Leaders for organising this.

Year 10 students were treated to an engaging performance of Shakespeare’s Macbeth on Tuesday 12 March, delivered by Manchester Actors Company. The performance was followed by a 30 minute workshop with the director and actors, where pupils explored their understanding of characters, events and themes in the play by hot-seating the actors in role as their characters.

Parents and Carers of approximately 30 Year 11 students should have received a letter via post, inviting their child to attend a 2-day GCSE English Language Workshop on the mornings of 9 and 10 April at school. These students are re-sitting their GCSE English Language exam in June and the workshops are an opportunity for students to practise the skills required for exam success. Please complete the reply slip at the bottom of the letter and return it to Mr. Lynch at your earliest convenience. Thank you.

Year 8 Parents' Evening will be taking place on Monday 25 March, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. All students should now have received appointment times, however if you have not yet confirmed your appointments please contact the school office on 01706 645522.

On Saturday 23 March, our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award students will be taking part in a training day – we wish them luck and look forward to seeing how they get on.
Just a reminder that we finish for Easter half term at 3:00pm on Thursday 28 March and reopen to students on Monday 15 April as normal. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on the 15th and hope you have a nice relaxing break.
