Well done to Isha Khan, Rebecca Marshall, Zulaikhah Shariff and Jake Naylor who raised over £140 for Cancer Research and should be so proud of their achievements. These students worked tirelessly all week baking cakes, making buns, selling chocolate shots and ended the week with fresh fruit and marshmallows being covered with chocolate from the chocolate fountains.

Commiserations to the Year 8 football team who were beaten by 3 goals to 1 by Holy Family in the Year 8 Cup competition. They played exceptionally well in very windy conditions but could not cope with the strike force of Holy Family who dominated the game. The team also had to cope with the loss of 3 key players. The team in full was Kyle Dixon, Luke Strackowski, Daniel Cryer, Will Taylor, Brandon Kwei Sutcliffe, Joe Wrest, Steven Nairn, Dominic Boothman, Will Moore, Jamie Ogden and Kristian Kean.

On Saturday 16 March, our Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award students will be taking part in a training day – we wish them luck and look forward to seeing how they get on.

Artist Jill Randall is coming into school to deliver a sculpture workshop to Year 11 GCSE students. They will use found objects to create art work based on the theme of ‘metamorphism’ as part of their coursework. They will also learn how to fuse objects together using different attachment techniques and materials. The art work produced will link to the assessment objectives required at GCSE.

Good luck to all our students who are participating in the Rochdale Festival of Performing Arts, which concludes next weekend.
