Hamer Community Primary School
On Wednesday afternoon this week LKS2 had their exit point on their current IPC Topic of ‘Fashion’. The finale of this was a fashion show for parents on Thursday morning which was well attended. The work and planning on display was fantastic and the t-shirts produced and modelled by the children were absolutely amazing!
Thank you to all parents who were extra careful in the car park during the snowfall this week. We would also like to thank the site staff for all their hard work ensuring that the paths and walkways were clear and gritted so all our children were able to attend school.
Bags2school are an organisation who collects good quality second hand clothing and bric a brac that can be re-used. We have sent their bags home so that you can fill them with any items listed on the cover that you wish to recycle. The half term break is a good time to clear out all the items you no longer want or use. This is a fund raising activity for school as we are paid for the weight of bags that we return. The bags need to be returned to school by Wednesday 27 February before 9am so that they can be included in the collection. Your support is greatly appreciated.
The children in KS1 will be visited by the Skylight circus as their entry point to their new IPC Topic on Monday 25 February. This will culminate in a performance which parents are invited to attend at 2.30pm. We look forward to seeing you as this sounds like it will be exciting to watch!
Mrs Hoyle’s literacy group produced a newspaper based on nursery rhymes as part of their work on journalism. They sold their newspapers, along with a hot chocolate and a cookie and raised £51.00 for the British Heart Foundation. Thank you to all the parents who supported us.
